San Gallo:

San Gallo, la metropoli ubicata all'est della Svizzera, ha un centro storico prezioso e senza traffico. Simbolo della città è la cattedrale con la biblioteca del convento dove sono conservati manoscritti e documenti ultra millenari. Nel 1983 l'UNESCO ha annove-rato l'intera proprietà del convento nell'elenco dei patrimoni culturali mondiali. Il centro storico si compone di bellissime case borghesi del XVI e XVIII secolo con lo stile tipico della struttura aggettante e ricchi ornamenti; alcune case hanno spesso la fac-ciata dipinta. La cucina locale è ricca e varia, si va dai ristoranti tipici tradizionali ai caffè con i tavolini sulla strada, tutto è fatto per i buongustai di specialità locali ed anche in-ternazionali. La città, inoltre, è punto di partenza per delle camminate nella regione di Appenzello e di San Gallo.
